LCP Annual Meeting April 19, 2017
Lake Country Power’s annual meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, April 19 at the Reif Center in Grand Rapids.
Registration begins at 4:45 p.m. with dinner and entertainment. The meeting will begin 6:00 p.m. in the Reif Center’s newly re-constructed auditorium.
Districts 3, 6 and 7 are up for election to serve three-year terms. These seats are currently held by George Harvey, Don Simons and Craig Olson.
A special election is being held in District 1, since Dale Long’s passing. The election for the District 1 seat will be held in conjunction with LCP’s 2017 election process, which is already underway. Nomination packets are available in Mountain Iron, Grand Rapids and Kettle River.
Any members interested in running for the District 1 seat must return election forms to the coop-erative’s headquarters office at 2810 Elida Drive, Grand Rapids, MN 55744 on or before the nomination deadline date, Wednesday, February 8, 2017 prior to the close of business – 4:30 p.m. – to be considered a candidate in the 2017 election.
Hybrid Voting Process
LCP will use Survey & Ballot Systems for a hybrid voting process, like last year. Members will have a choice to cast their vote by paper ballot or electronically.
Election ballots and the official annual meeting notice will mail between March 30 and April 4 for Districts 1, 3, 6 and 7. Online polls will open at 8:00 a.m. Central on March 30.
A representative from Survey & Ballot Systems will announce the election results at the annual meeting, April 19.
